ASHRM Member of the Year Award

ASHRM annually recognizes a member of the society who has contributed outstanding service throughout the year. The ASHRM board of directors selects the Member of the Year award from nominations submitted by ASHRM members. Although the award is not presented until after the end of the calendar year, nominations may be made at any time during the year. A nomination form is available on this website, at monthly luncheons, or by contacting the Awards and Recognition committee chairperson.

The board encourages all society members to take the time to nominate their peers when they observe them making outstanding contributions to the society. If there is someone who you think deserves the award, take the time to nominate him or her while it is fresh in your mind!

ASHRM 2005 Member of the Year -- Peggy O'Keefe, SPHR

Peggy O’Keefe is the Director of Human Resources for Chenega Corporation, an Alaska Native Village Corporation. She is caring, sensitive and supportive of all her staff. She takes the phrase “lead by example” to a new level, as her work performance is remarkable: dedicated, responsible, reliable, energetic and enthusiastic. She is a pleasure to work with, not only because of the qualities just listed, but because she is a great person as well.

Peggy volunteers her time as a member of the ASHRM Board, the HRCI Item Writing Panel and Affinityfilms, Inc. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Washington and an MBA from Marylhurst University.

Peggy has been a member of the Alaskan community for the better part of 23 years
