    Best Practices for Performance Appraisals

     Evaluating employee performance can be one of the most stressful aspects of managing people. If done well, the organization’s legal issues diminish, communication improves, and individual performance is better aligned with the organization’s goals. In this presentation, we will cover critical components of an effective performance appraisal.  How to design and implement an effective performance appraisal system.  What you can and cannot say to employees in a performance appraisal.  How to set expectations and encourage employees to improve performance and more.

    Presenter Eric McGhee, PHR, Alyeska Pipeline

    Eric is a Senior HR Generalist at Alyeska Pipeline Service Company. His prior experience include 8 years as an Investigator with the Anchorage Equal Rights Office; an Adult Probation and Parole Officer and Police Officer in Valdez and served in the United States Marine Corps. He has a BA degree in Criminal Justince from UAF, is PHR certiified. Eric is originally from Milford, Delaware and moved to Alaska in 1998, where he likes to enjoy outdoor activities all year round.
